Stewardship is how we take care of everything God has given to us. Stewardship comes from the word, steward. A good steward is one who does a good job taking care of something. If we want to be good stewards for God, we must take care of the many things God has given us. We all share a responsibility for stewardship or care of the environment. It is our sacred duty to ensure that the choices we make individually and collectively show that we respect God and we respect God’s creation.
Look at the following images, articles, videos. Choose one and comment on how this does or does not reflect stewardship for God’s creation.

God is the creator of all that is good and is the source of all being, things seen and unseen, the giver and sustainer of all creation. This creation is entrusted to the care of human beings, who are utterly dependent upon God. We believe that God created the universe and that God delights in all the creatures of the Earth and all creation. We can see the beauty of our world, and through this, God’s presence in our lives.
Activity: Write about your favourite place in God’s creation (for example, the park, the beach, in a tree, etc). Use descriptive language (adjectives) to build a picture of your favourite place. You might like to draw a picture to upload!
We have been looking at what living and non-living things are and what criteria something needs to follow in order for it to be classified as living or non-living.
What would you like to know about the topic of living or non-living? Is there something that you would live to investigate further? Please post answers below.
Who is God?
At the very core of the Catholic faith is the belief in God. Without the belief in God there is no belief in the rest of the Catholic faith. Share your ideas and beliefs about God by answering the following questions in full sentences or dot points.
- How would you describe God?
- What does God look like?
- Who or What has helped me develop my image of God?
